Lapis Lazuli Bracelets: The Part That Looks Out
Every piece here uses the stone the same way: as the part that points out. What changes is what it is paired with.
True North sets it against hematite, the heaviest stone we work with. The iron gives the strand a bottom, and a bottom is what makes a direction mean something. That is the piece for a decision that keeps not getting made.
White Space sets it against white howlite, with small red agate beads at every change. The white gives the blue room, so the eye has somewhere to rest between one long look and the next. That is the piece for a pace that has no gap in it.
Same blue. Different problems.
In the Hand: Lapis Lazuli Hardness and Care
Lapis is 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, which puts it among the softer stones here. It is a rock rather than a single mineral, and the calcite in it reacts to acid.
So: no soaking, no household cleaners, no ultrasonic or steam cleaning. A soft dry cloth and an occasional barely damp one is the whole method. Keep it away from quartz in a drawer, because at 5 to 6 it will take a mark. See our crystal bracelet care guide for daily storage and habits.
The partner stone sets the rest of the rules, and they differ. Hematite in True North is 5.5 to 6.5 and does not like knocks. Howlite in White Space is softer still, around 3.5, so that one comes off before anything active.
What the Gold Flecks in Lapis Lazuli Are
The first thing anyone notices is that the blue is not even.
Lapis is a rock, not a crystal, and three minerals grew into it together. The blue is lazurite. The white lines are calcite, running through the stone the way clouds sit in a sky. The gold dots are pyrite, small mirrors that catch a light the blue does not.
Higher grades have less of both. Plenty of people prefer the ones that have more, because gold on deep blue is the most recognisable thing this stone does. Neither reading is wrong.
What is worth knowing before you order: the flecks are not a coating and not a defect. They are what the rock is made of.
Where to Begin: Choosing a Lapis Lazuli Bracelet
True North if the problem is a decision that keeps not being made. The hematite gives it weight, and weight is what a direction needs in order to point away from something.
White Space if the problem is the opposite: everything is moving, all of it matters, and there is no gap in the day. The howlite is the gap.
True North can also carry a September birth month crystal, added under personalized. Neither piece should be worn on the same wrist as something harder.
If you want the long version, on why this stone was put in eyes three thousand years before anyone gave it a chakra: the farthest blue you can wear.
A stone should not stay in a drawer.
